Trend Finder

Trend Finder#

What it is: Researches a YouTube keyword or niche and returns videos, channels, keywords, competitor tags, and a competition score — all from live YouTube data.

What it produces#

Five data tabs:

Tab Contents
Videos Top videos for the keyword — views, likes, comments, engagement rate, publish date
Channels Channels ranking for the keyword — subscribers, total views, video count
Keywords AI-generated related keywords you could target
Competitor Tags Tags used by top-ranking videos, sorted by frequency
Opportunities Low-competition videos with high view-to-subscriber ratios

Plus a Competition Summary row showing the overall difficulty (Low / Medium / High), average views, and keyword count.

How to use it#

  1. Go to Tools → Trend Finder → + New Research.
  2. Select your brand.
  3. Enter a keyword — be specific (e.g. "budget travel tips 2025" rather than just "travel").
  4. Select a location — results are filtered to that region's YouTube.
  5. Click Research.
  6. Explore the 5 tabs.

Using cached results#

Research results are cached. If the same keyword + location was searched before, you'll see the cached result instantly with a "Updated X ago" indicator.

Click Refresh to force a fresh fetch from YouTube.

Competition score#

The competition score (0–100) is calculated from:

  • View score (50%) — average views of top videos
  • Subscriber score (35%) — average subscribers of top channels
  • Freshness score (15%) — how recently top videos were published

Low (0–33): Good opportunity — existing content is old or under-viewed. Medium (34–66): Moderate competition — quality content can rank with effort. High (67–100): Saturated — difficult to break through without a strong channel.

Tips#

  • Click any keyword in the Keywords tab to instantly run a new research on it.
  • Use the Competitor Tags tab to find tags you should add to your own videos.
  • Cross-reference Videos and Opportunities tabs to find keywords where top videos have many views but low engagement — a sign of audience dissatisfaction with existing content.
