Engagement Rate Calculator

Engagement Rate Calculator#

What it is: Calculates a YouTube video's engagement rate — (likes + comments) ÷ views × 100. Use a URL for live stats, or enter numbers manually.

Where it lives: tubewizz.com/youtube-engagement-rate-calculator — no account required.

What it returns#

Output Details
Engagement % The calculated rate
Tier badge Below average, Average, Good, Excellent, or Viral 🔥
Component breakdown Views, likes, and comments side-by-side

How engagement tiers are scored#

Range Tier Meaning
< 1% Below average Plays for impressions more than engagement
1–3% Average Typical YouTube performance
3–5% Good Above the median for most niches
5–8% Excellent Strong audience response
> 8% Viral 🔥 Outsized engagement vs. views

How to use it#

URL mode#

  1. Open tubewizz.com/youtube-engagement-rate-calculator.
  2. Paste a YouTube video URL.
  3. Stats are pulled from YouTube's public API. The rate calculates instantly.

Manual mode#

  1. Toggle Manual mode.
  2. Enter views, likes, and comments yourself.
  3. The calculator updates as you type. Use this when likes are hidden or the video is private.

Tips#

  • Comparing your average engagement rate over your last 10 videos gives a more reliable signal than any single video.
  • A high rate on a small-view video isn't unusual — the rate-vs-views curve flattens above 10k views.
  • Below 1% on a video with strong views often means the title and thumbnail are pulling in audiences who don't actually want the content.

Privacy#

Stats are fetched from YouTube's public Data API. Nothing is stored.
