SRT Generator#
What it is: Downloads the audio from any YouTube video and generates a .srt subtitle file. Optionally translates the subtitles into one of 16 languages.
What it produces#
A .srt subtitle file ready to upload to YouTube (Subtitles tab), embed in video editors, or use with any player that supports the SRT format.
How to use it#
- Go to Tools → SRT Generator → + New SRT.
- Select your brand.
- Paste a YouTube video URL (watch links, Shorts links, and
youtu.beshort links all work). - Choose the output language:
- Keep original — transcript in the video's original spoken language
- Any of the 16 supported languages — the subtitles will be translated
- Click Generate SRT and wait (typically 30–90 seconds depending on video length).
- Click Download .srt on the results page.
Supported translation languages#
English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Russian, Hindi, Dutch, Polish, Swedish
How to add subtitles to YouTube#
- Go to YouTube Studio → Subtitles.
- Click Add language → select the language.
- Click Add → Upload file → choose your
.srtfile. - Save.
Tips#
- For translation, the AI preserves timing and adjusts text length to fit within each segment's duration.
- The tool works on public YouTube videos. Private or age-restricted videos cannot be processed.
- Use the SRT file in video editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut) to burn in subtitles with custom styling.
